Nuggets
THE GOLDEN RULE
When surfing a “Geoff McCoy Designed Nugget” You must have most pressure on your back foot for short arc turns, WHY? The Geoff McCoy designed Nugget series are all about volume and having the board float high in the water. Because the balance and most volume is in the back half of the Board, it naturally wants to float tail high; putting pressure on your front foot makes the board draw long flat turns and increases the chance of the fins lifting out of the water.
The reason the board is designed like this is to support the surfer directly when standing, it also increases the power generated when turning allowing for continual flow of the board throughout the entire ride. For this reason it is extremely important to keep maximum pressure on your back foot when turning short quick arcs on the wave face.
